Nieuwe iPhone kan HD-video afspelen

De nieuwe iPhone en iPod touch krijgen een scherm met een hogere resolutie dan op het huidige model en kunnen HD-video afspelen in 720p en 1080i. Dat meldt PhoneNews.com, dat zich baseert op een uitgelekte memo van Apple over een nieuwe, bijna 100 dollar kostende av-kabel (77 euro) voor de iPhone.

De nieuwe kabel zou zowel HD- als SD-beelden kunnen doorgeven en geïntroduceerd worden om de verkoop van HD-video in de iTunes Store te stimuleren.
Volgens PhoneNews kan de gebruiker straks HD-videofilms direct op zijn iPhone downloaden, maar ook de Wi-Fi-verbinding van de iPhone en de nieuwe kabel gebruiken om HD-video's vanaf zijn computer naar zijn HD-tv te streamen. Hiermee zou de iPhone een alternatief worden voor de Apple TV.
