Hoe veelzijdig Apples iPhone ook is, het typen van teksten via het virtuele toetsenbord werkt niet altijd even lekker. Softwaremaker Promptu probeert daar iets aan te doen met het nieuwe iPhone-applicatie ShoutOUT.

Met ShoutOUT kunnen iPhone-bezitters hun sms-berichten inspreken, in plaats van ze moeizaam te typen. De gesproken zinnen worden door de software omgezet in tekst. Deze tekst kan vervolgens nog bewerkt worden, om hem uiteindelijk te versturen.

Helaas is de software alleen nog in staat om Engelse kreten te begrijpen. Wel zouden er plannen zijn om binnenkort ook een ‘niet-Engelse versie’ van het programma te verspreiden. De Amerikaanse versie is binnenkort beschikbaar via de iPhone App Store.
