Skype Mobile

Skype is a Voice over IP program that allows phone calls over the Internet . The Skype software is free for various mobile software such as Android, Apple iPhone, iPod touch, Symbian and Windows Mobile. The use is similar to many chat programs, there is a so called a buddy list where you can see which of your buddy's are online.

Skyping is free between Skype users. Through fixed or mobile numbers anywhere in the world the local fare is cheaper than through a fixed line. With Skype on a mobile phone you can save much when calling abroad. The customers pay the cost of internet on mobile phones, but not the high rates that telecommunication companies for mobile phones count. On its six-year anniversary 440 million Skype user installed it on a computer. In the first week after the launch on the iPhone, it was downloaded over two million times.

    Skype heeft een ge-upgrade betaversie gelanceerd van hun programma, speciaal voor Symbian S60-toestellen. Voorlopig worden iets meer dan tien toestellen – allen nokia S60 3rd edition – ondersteund. Zie hier voor de volledige lijst.

    Downloaden gaat top, maar inloggen totaal niet. Ten eerste is het bij het inloggen niet mogelijk om een wifi connectie te kiezen. Ten tweede blijft het inloggen steken op +- 50% en dan houdt skype mobile ermee op. Heb het wel is een hele nacht laten duren, maar komt geen steek verder :@. Misschien weet iemand een oplossing?
